PEEK Machining for Demanding Equipment

PEEK is the engineering polymer you reach for when metals fail: chemical attack, high continuous temperatures, electrical insulation or weight. But plastic is not 'easier to machine' — it moves, creeps and melts differently than metal, and tooling must respect that.

Why ProtoTech

Why equipment manufacturers choose us

Plastics machined like we mean it

Sharp tool geometry, controlled heat and clamping pressure tuned for polymers — not metal parameters applied to plastic.

Tolerances that survive the material

PEEK's thermal expansion is several times that of metals; we account for it in the measurement strategy and inspection conditions.

Cleanliness options for sensitive equipment

ESD-safe and cleanroom packaging for components destined for wafer equipment and analytical instruments.

How we work

From Drawing to Delivered Part

A transparent, engineering-led process built for long-term supply programs — not one-off transactions.

1

Submit & Review

Send drawings and program context. Our engineers run a DFM review and flag tolerances, materials and risk before any cutting begins.

2

Quote & Material Plan

You receive a transparent quote plus a material-verification plan — grade, EN/DIN check and certificate strategy for your application.

3

Machine & Inspect

In-house precision machining, then Zeiss CMM dimensional inspection and spectrometer material verification on critical batches.

4

Deliver & Support

Kitted, ESD-safe or cleanroom packaging, with local engineering and after-sales support through our German partner.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Chemical inertness, electrical insulation, low weight and high continuous-service temperature (~260 °C for standard grades) — plus freedom from the corrosion and outgassing issues some metals bring in aggressive environments.
It is different: PEEK's thermal expansion is much higher than metal and it can move after machining. Tool geometry, heat control and a material-aware measurement strategy are how we hold ±0.01 mm standard tolerances.
Yes — glass- and carbon-filled grades machine well and improve dimensional stability; tell us your application and we confirm grade handling in the quote.

What happens after you send your files

  • Within 1 business day an engineer — not a salesperson — reviews your drawings and replies.
  • DFM review: tolerances, material and risk flags, before any cutting begins.
  • Your quote includes a material-verification plan: grade, EN/DIN check, certificate strategy.

Every critical dimension is verified on our in-house Zeiss CMM · material chemistry confirmed by spectrometer · EN 10204 3.1 certificates available.
