CNC Machining for Industrial Automation Manufacturers
Industrial automation equipment runs continuously in demanding environments, so the mechanical parts must be accurate, repeatable and built to last. ProtoTech works with automation OEMs, machine builders and system integrators who design their own equipment and need a machining partner that understands mixed volumes, tight tolerances and long-term supply.
We machine the parts inside your machines: actuator and motor housings, sensor and guide brackets, conveyor components, couplings and custom mechanical assemblies — in aluminium, stainless steel, titanium and engineering plastics such as PEEK, PVDF and PTFE.

Automation Components We Machine
We work from the perspective of the parts inside your equipment — not from a machine-count brochure.
| Component | Description |
|---|---|
| Actuator & Motor Housings | Gearbox cavities, servo motor housings, drive enclosures |
| Sensor & Guide Brackets | Mounting brackets, guide rails, sensor holders |
| Frames & Bases | Machine bases, support frames, mounting plates |
| Couplings & Flanges | Shaft couplings, interface flanges, connectors |
| Conveyor Components | Rollers, guides, belt-tension parts |
| Mechanical Assemblies | Multi-part assemblies with mating tolerances |

Materials for Industrial Automation
Automation equipment balances lightweight structures, wear resistance and chemical stability. ProtoTech machines:
- Aluminium & Stainless Steel — structural parts, housings, frames
- Titanium — high strength-to-weight subassemblies
- Engineering Plastics — PEEK, PVDF, PTFE, POM for low-friction, insulating or chemically stable components

Capabilities for Automation Parts
- 5-Axis Machining — complex monolithic housings in one setup → 5-Axis Machining
- Precision CNC Turning — shafts, pins, threaded parts → CNC Turning
- Swiss Machining — small-diameter precision parts → Swiss Machining
- Tight Tolerance Machining — repeatable ±0.005 mm class → Tight Tolerance
Quality, Inspection and Traceability
For automation manufacturers, a failed component means line downtime. ProtoTech provides dimensional inspection, inspection reports, material certification and full traceability — so your quality team can qualify us for recurring production with confidence.
Our in-house metrology includes a Zeiss coordinate measuring machine (CMM) for full dimensional inspection and First Article Inspection (FAI), plus a benchtop material spectrometer to verify incoming stock against the specified grade. Every shipment can be supplied with EN 10204 3.1 material certificates and lot-level traceability, backed by ISO 9001:2015 (AENOR).
From Prototype to Recurring Production
We support the full lifecycle of your automation program:
- Prototype — first articles and design validation
- Pre-Series — small batches before ramp-up
- Recurring Production — scheduled supply of multiple part numbers
- Series Production — volume supply with stable lead times
