PTFE Machining for the Most Aggressive Environments

PTFE is nearly inert to everything and nearly frictionless — and nearly impossible to hold tight if you machine it like a metal. It is soft, it creeps under load and it moves with temperature, so precision PTFE is a measurement-and-fixture problem before it is a cutting problem.

Why ProtoTech

Why equipment manufacturers choose us

Respect for a difficult polymer

Sharp tools, minimal clamping stress and heat control — PTFE deforms if you treat it roughly, at any temperature.

Tolerance strategies for a moving material

We quote achievable tolerances honestly: PTFE moves with temperature and load, and pretending otherwise produces scrap.

Inert where it matters

Chemical, insulating and low-friction components for aggressive process environments.

How we work

From Drawing to Delivered Part

A transparent, engineering-led process built for long-term supply programs — not one-off transactions.

1

Submit & Review

Send drawings and program context. Our engineers run a DFM review and flag tolerances, materials and risk before any cutting begins.

2

Quote & Material Plan

You receive a transparent quote plus a material-verification plan — grade, EN/DIN check and certificate strategy for your application.

3

Machine & Inspect

In-house precision machining, then Zeiss CMM dimensional inspection and spectrometer material verification on critical batches.

4

Deliver & Support

Kitted, ESD-safe or cleanroom packaging, with local engineering and after-sales support through our German partner.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

It is soft, creeps under clamp load, expands several times more than metal with temperature and stress-relieves after cutting. Precision PTFE is about tooling, fixturing and honest tolerance strategy.
Filled PTFE (glass, carbon or bronze) dramatically improves creep and wear behavior while keeping chemical resistance. We machine all common filled grades.
Continuous service around 260 °C for unfilled grades, with essentially universal chemical inertness — the reasons it appears throughout chemical and high-purity processing equipment.

What happens after you send your files

  • Within 1 business day an engineer — not a salesperson — reviews your drawings and replies.
  • DFM review: tolerances, material and risk flags, before any cutting begins.
  • Your quote includes a material-verification plan: grade, EN/DIN check, certificate strategy.

Every critical dimension is verified on our in-house Zeiss CMM · material chemistry confirmed by spectrometer · EN 10204 3.1 certificates available.
