A report turns a measurement into evidence. It is what lets your incoming inspection trust the part without re-measuring every feature, and what an auditor asks for first.
The drawing revision inspected, the features measured, the nominal and tolerance for each, the actual measured value, and the instrument or method used — for the dimensions agreed as critical or as required by your quality plan.
With first article inspection for a new or revised part, and with production batches where a report is specified. FAI reports cover the drawing fully; batch reports cover the agreed critical dimensions.
